Karl-Heinz Appelt
Karl-Heinz Appelt (born July 20, 1940 in Radebeul ; † April 2013 in Kahla ) was a German sculptor , sculptor and graphic artist .
Live and act
After an apprenticeship and work as a stonemason and stone sculptor from 1955 to 1960, Appelt studied from 1960 at the Dresden University of Fine Arts in the field of plastic with Walter Arnold , Gerd Jaeger , Herbert Naumann and Hans Steger .
From 1965 Appelt worked as a freelancer in Jena and from 1978 in Kahla. In 1990 he became a member of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR in Thuringia.
From 1991 Appelt had a teaching position for sculpture at the University of Graphic and Book Art in Leipzig , from 1993 to 2005 he was the head of the workshop for plastic design.
Works by Appelt can be found in public collections in Berlin, Cottbus, Dresden, Frankfurt / Oder, Gera, Halle, Jena, Leipzig, Magdeburg and Weimar.
