Karl-Heinz Sundmacher

Karl-Heinz Sundmacher (born August 9, 1949 in Rethmar near Hanover (today part of the city of Sehnde )) has a doctorate in dentistry and was Federal Chairman of the Free Association of German Dentists (FVDZ) from 2005 to 2013 . He is married and has two grown children.

From 1959 to 1968 he attended the Tellkampf School in Hanover. After graduating from high school , he enlisted in the armed forces for four years , where he received the rank of lieutenant .

From the winter semester 1972 until the end of 1977, Karl-Heinz Sundmacher studied dentistry in Freiburg i. Br. And received his doctorate in 1979 on a medical topic ( muscular dystrophy in Duchenne's disease). From the beginning of 1978 until his establishment as an independent dentist with a practice in Hockenheim at the end of 1979, he worked as an assistant dentist in Grenzach-Wyhlen , Maulburg, Ketsch and Fahrenbach / Odenwald. Since 1978 he has been a member of the German Society for Dentistry and Maxillofacial Medicine (DGZMK).

From 1992 to 1994 he was a co-founder and then chairman of the Association for Free Dentistry North Baden (AFZ) for three years. From 1994 to 2004 he was a member of the Representative Assembly of the Kassenzahnärztliche Vereinigung (KZV) Karlsruhe , six years a member of the Representative Assembly of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists (KZBV) and twelve years a member of the Representative Assembly of the State Chamber of Dentists and the District Chamber of Dentists.

In 1992 he joined the Free Association of German Dentists (FVDZ). From 1994 to 1999 he was state chairman Baden-Württemberg of the FVDZ, from 1997 also a member of the federal executive committee. In this capacity he has been Deputy Federal Chairman since 1999. From 2005 to 2013 Karl-Heinz Sundmacher was federal chairman of the Free Association of German Dentists.

In 1998 Karl-Heinz Sundmacher co-founded the proDente eV initiative, of which he was chairman until 2006. He is also Deputy Chairman of the Advisory Board of the German Medical Insurance and a member of the Representative Assembly of the Deutsche Apotheker- und Ärztebank (apoBank).
