Karl-Heinz Weingärtner

Karl-Heinz Weingärtner (born December 5, 1945 in Heidelberg ; † November 14, 2011 ) was a German lawyer and former long-time President of the Administrative Court of Baden-Württemberg .

Life

After graduating from high school , Weingärtner began studying law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and, after passing the two state examinations in 1975, did his doctorate there with a dissertation on the subject of suspensive effect in the case of inadmissibility of objection and avoidance action: in particular the importance of the period of appeal and the requirements of the §§ 40, 42 VwGO for the scope of § 80 para. 1 VwGO . He then became a legal assessor at the state prosecutor's office at the VGH Baden-Württemberg before he became a judge at the Karlsruhe Administrative Court in 1976 . In 1982 he moved to the VGH Baden-Württemberg as a judge, where he dealt with questions on university and examination law .

In 1989 he returned to the VG Karlsruhe, where he became the presiding judge of a chamber for asylum procedures , which later also dealt with general administrative disputes. In addition to his work as an administrative judge, he also worked as a lecturer at the Schwetzingen University of Applied Sciences and as head of working groups for trainee lawyers and examiners for state legal examinations.

Weingärtner returned to the VGH Baden-Württemberg in 1993, where he became chairman of the 14th Senate, which was responsible for asylum law and business administration law. He then became President of the VG Karlsruhe in October 1995 and was also involved as a member of the Judges' Tribunal and, since 1996, as Chairman of the State Appeals Court for Pharmacists in Karlsruhe .

In July 2001 he was finally appointed President of the VGH Baden-Württemberg in Mannheim, which he headed for almost ten years until he was retired in December 2010.
