Karl-Rudolf Sillak , native Karl-Rudolf Silberg (born March 7, jul. / 20th March  1906 greg. In Märjamaa , Governorate of Estonia ; † 17th December 1974 in Tallinn , Estonian SSR ) was an Estonian football - Bandy - and Ice hockey player . He was also a trainer in these three sports, as well as a cyclist and author . In the 1930s he established his family name.

Life

Karl-Rudolf Sillak played in numerous sports in his life. Between the years 1924 and 1926 Sillak rode successfully in the Estonian cycling championship. From 1924 he played bandy at SK Tallinna Sport . By 1935 he won seven Estonian championships with the team. For the Estonian national bandy team Sillak completed a few games. From 1925 Sillak also played in the football team of the club with which he was four times Estonian champion . In 1933 he went to Tallinna JK for which he was active for six years without any significant success. In 1940 Sillak became Estonian champion with Spartak Tallinn's ice hockey team . For the Estonian national ice hockey team Sillak was also active. In 1943 he coached the SK Tallinna Sport in football before he worked as an ice hockey coach at Spartak Tallinn from 1948 to 1952. From 1959 he coached the ice hockey team of JK Tallinna Kalev and Tempo Tallinn .

From 1929 to 1938 Sillak played 50 times for the Estonian national soccer team and scored one goal. With the national team he took part in the Baltic Cup a total of nine times , winning the events in 1929 , 1931 and 1938 . In numerous international matches , he also acted as captain of the national team.

In 1970 he was one of the authors of the book Jalgpall. Minevikust tänapäevani ("Football. From the past to the present").

Karl-Rudolf Sillak died in Tallinn in 1974 at the age of 67. He is buried in the Tallinn Forest Cemetery in the Kloostrimetsa district .
