Karl-Theodor Geringer

Karl-Theodor Geringer (born April 13, 1937 in Yalta ) is an Austrian canon lawyer .

Life

Karl-Theodor Geringer was ordained for the Archdiocese of Vienna on June 29, 1961 . He was a synod judge in the Archdiocese of Vienna and from 1982 to 1986 professor for canon law at the theological faculty of the University of Passau . In 1986, he received a reputation as a full professor at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich . There he taught at the Canon Institute, today's Klaus Mörsdorf studies for canon, canon law , in particular marriage law , procedural and criminal law as well as state church law . In 2002 he retired .

Geringer has published several books and numerous papers on canon law.

He has been a member of the Catholic student association KaV Norica Wien in the Cartell Association (ÖCV) since 1955 . Geringer was awarded the Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art 1st Class and in 2007 the Great Silver Medal for Services to the Republic of Austria .
