Karl Atz (born October 15, 1832 in Kaltern , † February 1, 1913 in Terlan ) was a South Tyrolean art historian and Catholic priest .

Karl Atz was ordained a priest in 1857 , from 1857 to 1868 and from 1869 to 1910 he worked as a pastor in Terlan. From 1868 he was beneficiary (responsible for a benefice) in Terlan.

From 1872 he was a board member of the Bolzano Art and Museum Association, from 1875 curator for art and historical monuments and from 1882 founding chairman of the Bolzano Museum Association . In 1866–1869 he published the “Kirchenfreund”, 1870–1873 and 1885–1901 the “Kunstfreund”.

The Karl-Atz-Platz in Terlan was named after him.
