Karl Boehme

Karl Böhme (born July 17, 1877 in Jura , Ragnit district , † 1940 in Brazil ) was a German politician ( DDP ) and peasant functionary.

Life and work

After attending grammar schools in Lyck and Insterburg , Böhme, who was of Protestant faith, studied economics and history in Strasbourg , Leipzig and Berlin . During his studies he became a member of the Association of German Students in Berlin . After his doctorate in philosophy in 1901, he joined the service of the German Farmers' Union as managing director . During the First World War he was a member of the Advisory Board of the War Food Office.

Political party

Böhme initially belonged to the German Social Reform Party , but left it in 1910 and - despite further political activity - remained independent until the end of the Empire. In 1918 he participated in the founding of the DDP , of which he was a board member from 1919 to 1925. In 1925 he joined the DVP , but did not appear there any further.

MP

Böhme belonged to the Reichstag for the constituency of Marburg from 1907 to 1912 . In July 1913 he returned to parliament in a by-election for the Magdeburg constituency and joined the parliamentary group of the National Liberal Party as an intern. In 1919/20 he was a member of the Weimar National Assembly . Then he was again a member of the Reichstag until December 1924 .
