Karl Bernhard von Hietzinger
Karl Bernhard Hietzinger , from 1817 von Hietzinger , from 1819 to 1829 Knight von Hietzinger , from 1829 Baron von Hietzinger (also Carl ; born November 3, 1786 in Czernowitz ; † March 26, 1864 in Vienna ) was an Austrian administrative officer .
Life
Hietzinger was the son of a senior judicial officer. After his father was transferred to Agram in 1786 , he initially received private lessons due to the lack of German schools. He then went to the University of Vienna . There he studied law and philosophy . Before his twentieth birthday, on October 1, 1806, he entered the civil service. He was initially employed at the auditorium of the General Command in Vienna, the following year he was transferred to the Military Frontier Directorate at the Court War Council , in 1808 as a lieutenant in the administration of the 2nd Banal Border Regiment and finally to the Banat Military Frontier in 1809 . In 1809, Franz Jelačić von Bužim was promoted to first lieutenant , but this was no longer effective, since in 1810 he went to the court war council's military frontier department.
Hietzinger rose to the position of war secretary and advisor at the military border department by 1817. With the cholera outbreak in 1830, he was appointed as a consultant to the court commission. During this time he initiated the new police regulations . In 1832 he was appointed state adviser and councilor to the state and conference council, ten years later, in 1842, he was appointed state and conference council. One of his achievements was the reduction of the military service from 14 to 8 years. In 1850 he took part in the statistical congress in London .
Hietzinger became a member of the Reichsrat in 1853 and remained there until 1859, when he was retired. He dedicated his retirement to science. In 1860 he was elected President of the Imperial and Royal Geographic Society .
Honors
He received the ennoblement and the award of the baron status through the ennoblement of his father.
