Karl Christian Eduard Hiersemenzel (also Carl ; pseudonym : Eduard von Schönau ; * July 20, 1825 in Schönau an der Katzbach , district of Goldberg ; † December 6, 1869 in Berlin ) was a German lawyer .

Life

Hiersemenzel was the son of the mayor of Schönau. He received private tuition until he was 13 years old. He studied law at the University of Wroclaw . He initially worked at the courts of Sagan , Königsberg , Berlin , Charlottenburg and Mittenwalde . In 1851 he became an assessor , then in 1859 a city ​​judge in Berlin. In 1868 he left this position and worked in Berlin as a lawyer and notary .

In 1859, Hiersemenzel founded the Prussian Court Newspaper, which appeared as the German Court Newspaper from 1861 and which, as the publication organ of the German Legal Conference, was under his editing until 1867. He was also involved in the founding of a legal society in Berlin, which eventually brought the German Juristentag on the way. The first legal days were still influenced by him, but he withdrew from the legal society in 1866 due to disagreements. In addition, he worked with Wendelin von Maltzahn on a historical-critical edition of Friedrich Schiller's works and arranged for the publication of previously unpublished poems.
