Karl Diez

Karl Diez (born August 15, 1882 in Schliersee ; † October 27, 1964 in Wachenbuchen ) was a Hessian politician ( SPD , KPD ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

Karl Diez did an apprenticeship as a carpenter after graduating from elementary school and worked in the profession he had learned. During the First World War he did military service and was seriously wounded. After retraining to become a grocer, he started his own business in Pforzheim in 1934 . Between 1937 and 1944 he was the owner of a grocery store in Offenbach am Main (he had to give up the business after it was destroyed by a bombing).

Karl Diez had been a member of the SPD since 1899. In 1918 he became a member of the Spartakusbund and since its founding a member of the KPD.

Member of the municipal council from 1919 to 1928. Member of the district committee for the Hanau district from 1921 to 1928. From 1924 to 1928 he was deputy mayor. From 1945 to 1948 he was mayor in Wachenbuchen.

From February 26, 1946 to July 14, 1946 he was a member of the appointed Land Advisory Committee and from July 15, 1946 to November 30, 1946 of the Land Constitutional Assembly . In the first electoral period from December 1, 1946 to November 30, 1950, he was a member of the Hessian state parliament. In the state parliament he was chairman of the committee for food and agriculture .
