Karl Foerster (born September 15, 1866 in Saarbrücken , † November 3, 1957 in Frankenthal (Palatinate) ) was a German engineer and manager of the metal industry.

Life

Born as the son of the brewery director of the same name and Franziska geb. Oak, Karls Foerster attended the higher civil school and then the Royal Prussian Trade School in Saarbrücken. To study mechanical engineering, he went to the Technical University of Karlsruhe and the Technical University of Braunschweig . In Karlsruhe he became a member of the Corps Saxonia . After graduating, he began his professional career at the Pauksch company in Landsberg an der Warthe . After a year and a half, he moved to the Kühnleschen Maschenfabrik in Frankenthal . After a further six and a half years he went to the mechanical engineering company in Munich as a director for four years . In 1900 he became director and chairman of the AG Kühnle, Kopp & Kausch in Frankenthal.

Foerster was a commercial judge and chairman of the employers' cartel and the Frankenthal trade committee. He was a member of the board of the Association of Metal Industrialists in Mannheim and the Association of Palatinate Industrialists in Neustadt . He was a committee member of the Ludwigshafen Chamber of Commerce , the Association of German Steam Boiler and Apparatus Manufacturers, the Association of the German Steam Boiler and Apparatus Industry in Düsseldorf and the Association of German Iron Foundries based in Düsseldorf and Karlsruhe .

Furthermore, Foerster belonged to the city ​​council of Frankenthal and was a committee member of the German People's Party . He was married to Franziska Riel. They had a daughter.
