Karl Friedrich Christian Wenck , contemporary Carl Friedrich Christian Wenck , (born February 5, 1784 in Leipzig , † June 6, 1828 in Plagwitz ) was a German lawyer .

Life

Karl Friedrich Christian Wenck was born on February 5, 1784 in Leipzig as the son of the historian Friedrich August Wilhelm Wenck and the daughter of the Princely Mansfeld chancellery director Johann Christoph Schmidt . Karl Wenck's grandfather was the pedagogue Johann Martin Wenck , Wenck's other ancestors, Konrad Henrich Wenck (1670–1733), Johann Heinrich Reinhard Wenck (1645–1690) and Marsilius Wenck (1601–1686) were pastors . After Karl Wenck was taught by two private teachers, he attended the St. Thomas School in Leipzig from 1796 . From 1800 he studied at the University of Leipzig and studied both philosophy and law. In September 1804 he received the Bachelor degree, 1805 the Magister - and February 1809 the Doctor degree of law.

In 1810 he became an associate professor of law at the Leipzig University. Wenck's father as well as his brothers Eduard and Wilhelm died in the years 1810 to 1813. In 1813 Wenck married the daughter of the physician Johann Gottlob Haase ; together they had four daughters and three sons. From 1814 he worked as a court judge; from 1821 on he held the position as a full professor of natural and international law . He also taught Saxon law from March 14, 1824 as the successor to Christian Gottlieb Haubold . From 1817 he was a syndic of the university, which he remained until 1824.

Karl Friedrich Christian Wenck spent the summer of 1828 in a country house in Plagwitz; there he fell ill and died on June 6, 1828.
