Karl Friedrich Wilhelm von Weise

Karl Friedrich Wilhelm von Weise (born May 15, 1779 in Sondershausen ; † March 6, 1851 in Thierbach bei Meineweh ) was a German civil servant and politician.

Life

Karl Friedrich Wilhelm von Weise was the son of Ludwig Wilhelm Adolf von Weise , Chancellor and Schwarzburgisch-Sondershausen Chamber President. He was the oldest of twelve children, three of his siblings died in childhood, of his other siblings only his sisters are known by name, both of whom married the MP August Blumröder :

  • Albertine Viktoria Friederike von Weise (1781–1832);
  • Sophie Christiane Caroline von Weise (1786-1851).

He received scientific training from private tutors and from 1796 attended the University of Göttingen to study law and camera studies . After three years he finished his studies and returned to Sondershausen. There is a change of government had now occurred, because on 14 October 1794, Prince Christian Günther died and his eldest son Günther Friedrich Karl had taken its place. His father, Ludwig Wilhelm Adolf von Weise, was the official actuary at the time .

After Karl Friedrich Wilhelm von Weise worked as a lawyer for some time, he got a job as an assessor at the Princely Chamber. Some time later he became court and chamber councilor , vice-president and later president of the chamber. In this function he received frequent criticism from the population when it came to the administration of the princely chamber property; a task that he carried out to the satisfaction of his prince.

He took 1814/15 at the Congress of Vienna negotiations , together with his father, in part, as well as in the negotiations with Prussia , which had concluded on June 15, 1816 State Treaty consequence, making the former between black-Sondershausen and Saxony Rezessverhältnisse were eliminated . When the prince's son, Günther Friedrich Carl II, took over the government in 1835 , Karl Friedrich Wilhelm von Weise resigned and retired to private life; for this he lived on the estate of his brother, the head stable master von Weise in Thierbach near Naumburg . It was only after his resignation that it was recognized that he had strictly adhered to princely law and could not have acted otherwise.
