Karl Friedrich von Cratz

Karl Friedrich von Cratz (born February 3, 1671 , † September 7, 1747 in Halle ) was a Prussian major general , head of the Berlin garrison regiment and heir to Mordal and Pfänner in Halle.

Life

His parents were Hans Jakob von Cratz († May 20, 1706) and his wife Elisabeth Sibille Reinhard, daughter of the privy councilor Johann Georg Reinhard . His father was a member of the Kurbrandenburg Chamber of Commerce and governor of Ziesar, Zinna, Loburg and Neuschloß.

He came into Prussian service in 1685 and in October 1690 became a lieutenant in the 2nd Battalion of the Guard in Crossen. He became chief of staff in 1705 and on April 19, 1709 received his own company . On February 28, 1720 he became major , on December 6, 1714 lieutenant colonel . In 1721 he asked for his farewell, which he received as a colonel . When Friedrich II ascended the throne in 1740, he was looking for experienced officers. He also brought Cratz back and gave him the Berlin Land Regiment . In April 1743, Cratz was made major general.

He died unmarried on September 7, 1747 in Halle. He bequeathed his wealth to the invalids' fund.
