Karl Gratza

Karl Gratza (also Carl Gratza ) (born May 27, 1820 in Tworkau , Ratibor district ; † June 29, 1876 in Himmelwitz , Groß Strehlitz district ), was a German Catholic clergyman and a member of the German Reichstag .

Karl Gratza was ordained a priest on August 3, 1845 . Then he was chaplain in Kosel , where he was also district vicar on February 1, 1847. In July 1848 he was appointed administrator in Lubowitz . From 1853 to 1865 he was parish administrator in Schurgast , then pastor in Himmelwitz. In addition, he was Actuarius Circuli of the Archipresbyterate Groß Strehlitz , that is, the deputy of the archpriest .

After Hugo zu Hohenlohe-Öhringen's mandate had been declared invalid by the Reichstag's electoral review commission, Gratza was re- elected as a member of the German Reichstag for the center on September 24, 1875 for the constituency of Oppeln 3 , which included Groß Strehlitz and Kosel . After his death on June 29, 1876, he was followed by MP Adolph Franz by by-election on September 18, 1876.

Gratza was buried in Himmelwitz in the cemetery of the All Saints Church. His tomb has been preserved to this day.
