Karl Gustav von Rosen

Karl Gustav von Rosen (born April 17, 1706 in Marienwerder ; † January 12, 1772 in Cöslin ) was a Prussian major general and chief of infantry regiment No. 17 .

Life

Karl Gustav comes from the Livonian family von Rosen . On December 12, 1741 he became captain of the "Persode" regiment and on June 3, 1751 major . In the Seven Years' War , he was in 1758 Lieutenant Colonel , on March 3, 1759 Colonel . In 1760 he was wounded in the battle of Landeshut and taken prisoner by the Austrians. He was interned in Königgrätz and was released again at the end of the war. He was able to report back to Glatz on April 7, 1763 and on May 23, 1764 became major general and chief of the Manteufel infantry regiment.

On October 26, 1742, Rosen married Anna von Schenkendorff (* November 22, 1723; † April 4, 1790), the daughter of Johann von Schenkendorff, heir to Scheibe and Labitsch near Glatz, and his wife Maria von Kalckreuth . The following children were born from the marriage:
