Karl Heinz Lemmrich

Karl Heinz Lemmrich (born September 28, 1926 in Zella-Mehlis ; † April 24, 2018 ) was a German engineer and politician ( CSU ).

Life and work

After attending secondary school, Lemmrich was drafted into service as an air force helper in 1943. He did Reich Labor Service in 1944 and took part as a soldier in the Second World War in 1944/45 , from which he returned home as a war disabled. He then continued his school career, passed his high school diploma in 1946 and then completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer, which he completed in 1949 with the journeyman's examination.

Lemmrich moved to West Germany and settled in Bavaria . In 1947 he began studying civil engineering at the Technical University of Munich , which he completed in 1951 with an examination as a graduate engineer. He then worked as a construction and construction manager in a construction company.

After resigning from the Bundestag mandate, he was a technical board member of Rhein-Main-Donau AG from 1988 .

Political party

Lemmrich joined the CDU Thuringia in 1946 and switched to the CSU after he moved in 1947. He joined the Junge Union (JU), was elected chairman of the JU Munich in 1958 and was deputy chairman of the JU Bayern from 1959 to 1964.

MP

Lemmrich was a member of the German Bundestag from 1961 until his resignation on July 28, 1988. He was first drawn into parliament via the Bavarian State List, represented the constituency of Donauwörth from 1965 to 1980 and then the constituency of Donau-Ries until he left the Bundestag . From 1972 to June 18, 1974 he was deputy chairman of the Bundestag committee for transport and for post and telecommunications. He was then deputy chairman of the Bundestag Committee on Transport, which he has headed as chairman since 1976. He was also deputy chairman of the CSU regional group from 1976 to 1980 .

Private

From his marriage to his wife Rosmarie, who died in 1997, Lemmrich has a daughter and a son. He lived in Rain from 1970 to 1989 , then moved to Sauerlach and then lived in a retirement home in Holzkirchen . He was buried on May 3, 2018 in Rott am Inn .
