Karl Heinz Mannchen

Karl Heinz Mannchen (* 1923 in Berlin ; † June 23, 1996 in Madrid ) was a German film producer and screenwriter who was occasionally seen in small guest appearances in his films.

Life

Because of his Jewish descent, he fled to Spain at a young age during the German Nazi regime, where he joined the partisans . After the war he worked as a production assistant for various Spanish film production companies from the late 1950s. In the mid-1960s he worked for Hesperia Films , where he met Jess Franco . From then on he was a kind of house and farm producer for Jess Franco and brokered the German (co) productions with Adrian Hovens Aquila Film and Artur Brauner . The German Christmas series Timm Thaler from 1979 was also a great success .

He was married to the producer Maite (Mayte) Mannchen (born Maria Teresa Kardel).
