Karl Hermann Haupt

Karl Hermann Haupt (* 1904 in Halle ad Saale , † 1983 in Berlin ) was a German painter , graphic artist , photographer and designer .

Life

After studying painting at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Halle, from 1923 to 1924, Haupt attended Bauhaus courses with Josef Albers and László Moholy-Nagy and with Paul Klee , Wassily Kandinsky and Walter Gropius . Then he was a master student at Burg Giebichenstein and took part in the theater class and worked as a painter in the Krefeld textile industry. 1931–1934 he continued his training with Johannes Itten at the Higher Technical School for Textile Surface Art in Krefeld, where he was then employed as a draftsman for the United Silk Weavers until 1938 . After 1946 Karl Hermann Haupt was a lecturer at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art and a graphic artist and photographer at the Academy of Sciences . He is represented with works in museums at home and abroad.
