Karl Ihmels

Karl Ihmels (born April 2, 1941 in De Bilt , Netherlands ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and lawyer . From 1985 to 1994 he was a full-time first district member and from 1994 to 2006 district administrator of the Lahn-Dill district .

Life

After completing eight-year elementary school in 1949, Ihmels completed training as a simple postal service by 1952 and then worked in various post offices. After a short visit to the senior class of a middle school and a three-year course at the evening grammar school in Oldenburg , he passed the school leaving examination in 1962. Studying law combined with economics in Marburg was followed by a brief activity as a research assistant at the Justus Liebig University in Gießen and trainee training in the higher regional court district of Frankfurt am Main . From 1973, Ihmels worked as a department head in the Wetzlar district , the Lahn-Dill district , the Gießen district and the district council of Gießen , while working on his dissertation, which he completed in 1980 at the legal department of the University of Bremen as a Dr. jur. received his doctorate.

He is married and has three children with his wife.

Ihmels is currently a lawyer and managing partner of Ecoconsil Verwaltungs-GmbH as a holding company for three project companies in the field of wind farm development. In addition, he advises on the energy and environment sectors and focuses on the question of more intensive use of the connection between waste management and energy through the use of a modern pyrolysis process. I.a. He is interested in the ecologically and economically optimized use of the dry stabilate obtained from household waste. Since 2017, Ihmels has been managing the start-up Ecolingual UG as managing partner with the aim of introducing the language course "German for foreigners" to the market. Ihmels has accompanied his activities as a writer since his student days. As an active athlete, he examined the political orientation of GDR sports in his first book, "Sport and Splitting in the Politics of the SED " (Cologne 1965), and then analyzed the parallel problems of West German sports in a magazine article. This was followed by the dissertation “The Right to Vacation” (Königstein 1981), which, in his opinion, had not been mastered during the traineeship training, with a fundamental criticism of the patriarchal legal-dogmatic classification by the Federal Labor Court that had been rescued from the Nazi era . As head of the regional planning department at the Gießen regional council, Ihmels and his colleague Michael Köppl commented on the Hessian state planning law (Cologne 1983). In his responsibility for waste management in the Lahn-Dill district, Ihmels laid the foundations for the waste management concept of the Lahn-Dill district under the title "Perspektiven Kommunaler Entsorgungspraxis" (Berlin 1994). Karl Ihmels is a member of the SPD and is on the board of the SPD Wetzlar Mitte. He has been a city councilor in Wetzlar since 2006 .

Activity as a full-time district member and district administrator

In the years 1985 to 2006, under the personal responsibility of Ihmels, in addition to the business of ongoing administration, including school and road construction, the following projects were realized:
