Halden is a district of the city of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia .

geography

Halden is north of the Hagen motorway junction in the corner formed by the federal motorways 45 and 46 . In the north Halden is bounded by the Lenne . The southern half of Halden is a purely residential area, while the extensive industrial area Lennetal is located in the north . Within the city of Hagen, Halden belongs to the Lennetal district in the Hohenlimburg district.

history

Halden was first mentioned in 1229 as Haldene in the goods and income register of the women's convent and later noble women's monastery Herdecke . The peasantry Halden part in parish Hagen to court and county of Mark . In the treasury of Grafschaft Mark from 1486, 11 taxable farm owners are named in Burschop Halden with a tax between 1 oirt (¼ Gg) and 8 gold guilders .

From the 19th century the old Westphalian cluster village Halden was a rural community in the Boele district of the Hagen district . On August 1, 1929, Halden was incorporated into the city of Hagen by the law on the municipal reorganization of the Rhenish-Westphalian industrial area .
