Herbeck is a district of the city of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia .
geography
Herbeck is located east of the Hagen motorway junction on both sides of the 46 federal motorway . Herbeck is bounded in the north by the Lenne . The north of Herbeck is characterized by commerce, with a small residential area in the middle, the Hühnerloh nature reserve and the Herbeck nature reserve, and the big Donnerkuhle quarry in the south of Herbeck . Within the city of Hagen, Herbeck is part of the Lennetal district in the Hohenlimburg district.
history
Herbeck House is first mentioned as a double knightly estate in records from the 13th century in connection with the payment of taxes to Herdecke Abbey . Originally there were two manors, "Oberste Herbeck" and "Niederste Herbeck".
The peasantry Herbeck part in parish Hagen to court and county of Mark . In the treasury of Grafschaft Mark from 1486, 7 taxable farm owners are named in Burschop Heyrbecke with a tax between 1 and 6 gold guilders .
The two estates in Herbeck came into the possession of the Baron von Hövel family through inheritance and purchase in the 17th and 18th centuries . By merging, the knight's seat became the largest and most powerful aristocratic court in the Lennetal. Today it is still privately owned by Freiherr von Hövels.
Herbeck has been a rural community in the Boele district of the district of Hagen since the 19th century . On August 1, 1929, Herbeck was incorporated into the city of Hagen through the law on the municipal reorganization of the Rhenish-Westphalian industrial area .
