Karl Kilchling

Karl Wilhelm Kilchling (born August 8, 1886 in Weitenau , † December 26, 1962 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German geophysicist , university professor , inventor and ministerial official .

Life

Kilchling his doctorate in 1910 at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg Dr. phil. with a doctoral thesis on the subject of absorption measurements and calculation of the oscillating electrons and ions of the molecule from the absorption and dispersion curves. From 1915 to 1949 he was a teacher at the Hindenburg School in Freiburg. In 1945 he became the first lawyer at the University of Freiburg. From 1947 he was honorary professor for geophysics at the Natural Science and Mathematics Faculty of the University of Freiburg, where he offered exercises in applied geophysics. In the Baden Ministry of Education and Teaching in Freiburg, he worked as a university advisor. In 1946 Kilchling became a senior councilor and in 1948 a ministerial advisor. He retired in 1949.

Kilchling was a member of the German Physical Society from 1924 to 1945 . In 1950, he was deputy chairman of the Natural Research Society in Freiburg im Breisgau .

Patents (not complete)

In September 1932 he was registered as the inventor of a German patent (drive with escapement mechanism) and in January 1934 an American patent was granted which identifies Kilchling as the inventor of a manufacturing process for coated metal foils. In 1952 a patent was published for a process for the production of coatings from heat-curable paints . In 1958 another patent was published by Kilchling (process for roughening electrodes for electrolytic capacitors) .

In total, there are 20 patent specifications on Espacenet in the database of the European Patent Office that name Kilchling as the inventor. In addition to self-registrations, there were also a number of patents that were registered in the name of Aluminumwerk Tscheulin GmbH , Teningen , and thus arose from contract developments for Emil Tscheulin .
