From Schony's Freikorps. 1761

Karl Ludwig von Schony was a Prussian major and leader of a Prussian Freikorps (F IV).

He was a captain in a Württemberg hussar regiment before he received a patent for a Prussian free corps on March 17, 1761 and was made a major. According to the agreement of May 29, 1761, it was to consist of a Hungarian Free Hussar Corps of four companies (16 officers, 469 men) and a Hungarian Free Hussar Corps of two squadrons (19 officers, 226 men). This should be advertised among captured Hungarians in Breslau .

It took part in the battles at Kreyersbach and Börnichen, also fought in the battle of Burkersdorf and was then used for cover tasks at Schweidnitz . At the end of 1762 it was then merged with the Hüllessem Freikorps .

After the Treaty of Hubertusburg , the unit was dissolved in 1763.

Schony then went to Poland , where he recruited troops in 1767.
