Life and career

His father, Heinrich Wilhelm Müldner, was the Malsburg bailiff in Breuna.

Müldner had been a member of the Hesse-Kassel army since the 1790s. He then served in the military of the Kingdom of Westphalia and returned to the Hessian military in 1814. After Müldner was raised to the hereditary nobility on November 27, 1830 by naming von Mülnheim and appointed major general on January 7, 1831, he acted as provisional director of the War Ministry from January 21 to April 9, 1831 , ie as Minister of War . He was dismissed because of a collision with the elector; afterwards he was chief of staff of the mobile corps of the united Hesse-Nassau division. In July 1832 he was appointed commandant of Marburg , and in 1848 he was transferred to Hanau as such, until he was temporarily retired in 1850 and promoted to lieutenant general in 1851 and finally retired in 1851 without permission to wear the army uniform.
