Karl Menrad

Karl Menrad (born July 9, 1944 in Titisee-Neustadt ) is a German actor .

Career

He studied German, history and theater studies until he got his first engagement as an actor at the Westphalian State Theater Castrop-Rauxel in 1968 .

Further contracts followed, including Menrad for 14 years at the Burgtheater Vienna (member of the ensemble from 1985 to 1999).

Karl Menrad reads audio books for children and adults, e.g. B. Peterchens Mondfahrt, dolphin stories, the big children's Bible, as well as texts u. a. by Hans Christian Andersen , Elizabeth George , Elias Canetti . As an audio book speaker he was u. a. from the hr2 audio book best list (e.g. for Kirsten Boie's “Seeräuber-Moses” and Christine Nöstlinger's “The Scary Horror”) and with the German Record Critics' Award (for “Der kleine Ritter Trenk” by Kirsten Boie).

The television audience knows him from the ORF / ZDF series " Schlosshotel Orth ". Most recently he had engagements in the Zimmertheater Tübingen in “ The Hour, As We Didn't Know About Each Other ” by Peter Handke and in the summer of 2007 at Semmering in “ Der Schwierige ” by Hugo von Hofmannsthal (director: Christopher Widauer ).

Today Karl Menrad works as an actor, radio, audio book and voice actor. He lives and works in Vienna , Austria .
