Karl Rehbaum

Karl Rehbaum (* 1937 in Schraplau ) was a colonel in the Enlightenment Headquarters (HV A) in the GDR Ministry for State Security until it was dissolved in 1990 .

Life

Rehbaum learned an agricultural profession and joined the MfS in 1955, where he attended the Potsdam-Eiche Law School of the MfS from 1955–1957 ; From 1957 to 1965 he served in the Eisleben district office and rose as first lieutenant to head of the Mansfeld Combine Operational Group in the Department of Protection of the National Economy. Then he moved to HVA, where he was promoted to the position of 1st deputy head of Department XII ( European Community and Western Europe) under Klaus Rösler and next to Dieter Kutta to the position of colonel. He was the command officer of the NATO spy Rainer Rupp and was a. a. therefore sentenced to probation in 1994. Rehbaum is still active as a consultant for the RotFuchs group to this day . He is the chairman of the working group of the educators in the Society for Legal and Humanitarian Support eV (GRH).
