Karl Adolf Ferdinand Schmidt (born February 8, 1898 in Züllichau , † October 18, 1969 in Dortmund ) was a German administrative lawyer and district president .

Life

Born the son of a district court advisor, Schmidt took part in the First World War as a war volunteer after attending the humanistic grammar school in Züllichau , and was promoted to deputy sergeant in the field artillery until 1919. He studied law in Jena and Munich . During his studies in 1919 he became a member of the Arminia fraternity in the castle cellar . After his exams in 1922 he became a trainee lawyer at the district court of Züllichau and in 1923 a government trainee lawyer in the Frankfurt administrative region and at the Sorau district office . In 1923 he was awarded a Dr. iur. doctorate and 1925 government assessor in Berlin. After a stop at the Weißenfels district office , he went to the Berleburg district office in 1928, where he was responsible for almost a year. In 1929 he became a representative of the district administrator in Freiburg in Lower Silesia and from 1930 worked for the Gumbinnen government. He was Councilor and was then from 1932 to 1933 at the Higher Bureau and the government Schneidemühl . In 1932 he joined the NSDAP . In 1933 he became the district president in Allenstein . He took part in World War II , most recently as a lieutenant in the reserve . In 1945 he was taken prisoner by the English , from which he was released in 1947. From 1948 to 1951 he was a city ​​councilor in Herten . In 1952 he became an authorized officer and in 1956 a deputy member of the board of the Dortmund Union Brewery . In 1963 he retired.
