Karl Theodor Friedhoff

Karl Theodor Friedhoff (born June 5, 1932 in Beckum ; † September 2, 2018 in Hanover ) was a German veterinarian, parasitologist and professor at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hanover .

Life

Friedhoff studied veterinary medicine in Hanover and was awarded a Dr. med. vet. PhD. In 1969 he completed his habilitation in Hanover. In 1970 he was appointed professor of parasitology at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hanover (TiHo), as well as director of the Institute for Parasitologist. He was rector of the TiHo from 1991 to 1993 and 1995 to 1997. His main scientific interest was protozoal infections , in particular the development of Babesia in the vector tick .

Since 1953 he was a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. Saxo-Silesia Hannover in the CV .
