The Archbishop's Liebfrauenschule Bonn ( LFS for short ) is a private Catholic girls' high school in Bonn's southern part of the city .

history

The Liebfrauenschule goes back to a private Catholic secondary school for daughters , which was founded by the pedagogue Bernardine Fröhlich in 1876 ​​during the times of the Kulturkampf and has been headed by Emilie Heyermann since 1900. In 1917 the Sisters of Notre Dame took over the sponsorship of the school, which in 1919 moved to the building at Königstrasse 17-19. In 1938 the school was closed by the National Socialists and run as the municipal secondary school II for girls. In 1945 the sisters took over the school again, which was expanded into a modern language grammar school and (until 1975) a grammar school for women's education . The Archdiocese of Cologne has supported the school since 1975 . The school has been redesigned and expanded since 1985, including specialist rooms.
