The Sankt-Adelheid-Gymnasium ( SAG for short ) is a private Catholic girls ' high school in the Beuel district of Bonn . The school is attended by around 1000 students. It is located in the district of Pützchen-Bechlinghoven on Pützchen Chaussee. Because the SAG is a Catholic school, there is a morning school prayer, regular church services, the offer of days of reflection and its own school chaplain.

history

The school was founded in 1920 by sisters of the Sacre Cœur order in the Sacred Heart Monastery of St. Adelheid . In 1924/25 a new building, still in use today, was built according to plans by the Munich architect Bruno Paul . Since 1986 the Archdiocese of Cologne has taken over the sponsorship. From 1962 to 1969 the Sankt-Adelheid-Gymnasium was headed by Sister Isa Vermehren .

Subject offer

The first foreign language is English , in the 6th grade French or Latin can be chosen. From the 7th grade onwards, there is a choice between a linguistic and a scientific focus. English is taught bilingual in one branch , then some subjects are taught in English. There is an exchange program with an English school to promote English language development, and older students also have the opportunity to do an internship in London .

There is an advanced course -Kooperation with the Cardinal Frings-Gymnasium in Limperich and Liebfrauenschule Bonn .

The school offers a day boarding school with homework supervision in the afternoons. This is in the sponsorship of the Kolping-Bildungswerk .

Furnishing

The school has a library with around 16,000 media and 35 computer workstations.
