Karl Wild (born November 23, 1917 in Munich ; † April 27, 1975 there ) was a German ice hockey player and coach.

Career

Karl Wild - from the offspring of MEV 1883 Munich - moved to SC Riessersee in the winter of 1930/31 and played for its first team from 1932 to 1952, with which he became German champions six times and scored more than 500 goals.

With the German national ice hockey team he took part in the World Championships in 1937 , 1938 and 1939 . He also took part with the national team at the Olympic Winter Games in Oslo in 1952 , where he finished eighth with the team. Born in Munich, he played a total of 22 games in the national team's jersey.

Eight years later at the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley , he was the coach of the German team that finished sixth.

After the general assembly of FC Bayern Munich on March 21, 1955, no successor was found in the election of the new board and the report of the board was not accepted by the meeting and the discharge of the board was postponed on request, Karl Wild took over as acting Board of directors of FC Bayern - together with Alfred Reitlinger as 2nd provisional director - until the Extraordinary General Assembly on April 19, 1955.
