The German ice hockey championship 1947/48 was held in two regional preliminary rounds and one final round. It was played in the league system.

Preliminary round north

The champions from Berlin, Hamburg and Hesse as well as three teams from West Germany took part in the preliminary round. The Berlin representative SG Eichkamp withdrew after defeats against Krefeld EV (4:18), Prussia Krefeld (5: 9) and Cologne (6: 7). The results have been deleted.

Preliminary round south

The champions of Baden and Württemberg as well as four representatives from Bavaria should take part in the preliminary round. Württemberg did not report any participants. Not all exact results are available, so goal differences cannot be given.

Finals

Originally, the top two teams in each group were supposed to qualify for the finals. This should take place as a tournament in Bad Nauheim . The final round was then increased to six teams and played as a league round.
