Karl von Korff

Karl von Korff (born October 6, 1867 in Hajen ; † 1956 ) was a German anatomist in Kiel, Tübingen and Argentina.

Life

Karl von Korff began to study medicine at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg . In 1891 he was in the Corps Hasso Borussia recipiert . As an inactive , he moved to the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin and the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel . In 1895 he was awarded a Dr. med. PhD. In 1896/97 he went to China and Japan as a ship's doctor for a Hamburg shipping company. Then he went to Walther Flemming's anatomy department as an assistant . He completed his habilitation in anatomy with him in 1902 .

On June 26, 1913, he asked the medical faculty of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen for admission to the habilitation. Since he was already qualified as a professor in Kiel, took place the Habilitation . On July 16, 1913, the approval of the Kgl. Württemberg Ministry of Churches and Schools, v. Korff to give permission to hold lectures in anatomy in accordance with the standards for the habilitation of private lecturers of February 13, 1909. At the same time, the award of the title and rank of associate professor was initiated. The award of the title and rank of extraordinary professor took place on July 22, 1913. During the First World War v. Korff worked in a military hospital in Leipzig from 1917 at the latest. In November 1918 he informed the University of Tübingen that he wanted to resume his work in Tübingen if he could advance to the 2nd prosecution. The negotiations between the university and Karl von Korff were unsuccessful. After he had not complied with the resumption of service ordered by the university in 1919, the Ministry of the People's State of Württemberg ordered his dismissal in 1919. When the university tried to bring proceedings against von Korff in 1926, the letters were returned to Korff's previously known address in Leipzig as undeliverable.
