Karl von Monroy

Reinhold Karl von Monroy (born January 23, 1808 in Güstrow ; † April 15, 1894 ibid) was a German lawyer and judge.

Life

Karl von Monroy was the son of the lawyer Karl August Wilhelm Heinrich von Monroy (1765–1815). From 1827 he studied law at the Universities of Göttingen and from 1830 Rostock , where he became a member of the Corps Vandalia Göttingen and Corps Vandalia Rostock . He was promoted to Dr. jur. PhD . In 1858 Monroy became director of the law firm in Güstrow. He later became President of the Mecklenburg-Schwerin Higher Court in Güstrow. When it was repealed as a result of the new court system of 1879, he resigned from the judicial service.

His family history estate is in the Schwerin State Main Archive .

His sons were the lawyer Ernst von Monroy (1839–1895) and the chief forest master Carl von Monroy (1846–1924). His daughter Julie married Karl von Nettelbladt, the inspector of the farmhouse in Güstrow, in 1863 .
