Karlheinz "Kalla" Pflipsen (born October 31, 1970 in Mönchengladbach ) is a former German football player .
society
Pflipsen began at SC Rheindahlen, from where he moved to the youth team at Borussia Mönchengladbach . In 1989 he made his debut for the club in the Bundesliga . Until the decline of the Borussia 1999 graduated Pflipsen 197 Bundesliga matches (37 goals) for the years 1995 and Mönchengladbach in that team that at Berlin's Olympic Stadium with a 3: 0 on the VfL Wolfsburg to the German Cup in 1995 won. In 1992, Pflipsen was already in the final of the 1992 DFB Cup with Borussia Mönchengladbach , but failed with his team on penalties (3: 4) at the second division side Hannover 96 .
For the 1999/2000 season he moved to the Greek top club Panathinaikos Athens with whom he was runner-up in Greece. In addition, during his first year, Pflipsen was voted the best foreigner in the league together with Giovanni by Olympiacos. He also played several times with Panathinaikos in the Champions League.
In October 2001 Pflipsen signed a contract with the second division club Alemannia Aachen , where he stayed until the summer of 2004. Although Pflipsen missed promotion to the Bundesliga with Alemannia in May 2004, he reached the final of the DFB Cup again under coach Jörg Berger (after Alemannia prevailed in front of their own audience in the semi-finals in a fierce match against Borussia Mönchengladbach ). Aachen then lost to Werder Bremen .
After a successful period and his third participation in the 2004 Cup final in Berlin, he moved to TSV 1860 Munich , which was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga in May 2004 after having been in the 1st Bundesliga for ten years . There he lost his regular place in the second half of the season and then ended his active career as a professional footballer at the age of 34.
In the spring of 2006, however, he joined the Austrian fifth division Union Raika Weißkirchen again for a short time . Financed by a sponsor consortium, Pflipsen was flown in from Cologne to Upper Austria every Thursday. On Saturday we went back to our German homeland. In total, he played seven times for Weißkirchen and scored two goals.
From July 14, 2008 he was the head coach of the U-23 team at Rot-Weiss Essen . On February 18, 2009, the cooperation was terminated by mutual agreement with immediate effect. The reasons given were different views on the conceptual content.
National team
As part of the US Cup , a four-nation tournament in the United States, Pflipsen completed his only A international match for Germany as a substitute on June 13, 1993 in Chicago against hosts USA (4: 3) under national coach Berti Vogts . Pflipsen went through all stations in the U-teams of the DFB. In the U-15 to the U-21 national team of the DFB, he played over 40 international matches for Germany.
