Karlheinz Roschitz

Karlheinz Roschitz (* 1940 ) is an Austrian journalist and editor-in-chief of the Kronenzeitung .

Life

Roschitz began training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar , which he did not finish. He then studied German and art history at the University of Vienna . In 1972 he received his doctorate with a thesis on "Forms of mannerism in literary journals of the first half of the 20th century".

Roschitz was the Kurier's music critic and first art critic until 1970, after which he was promoted to head of the Kronen Zeitung's cultural department . Since 1976 he has selected the concert programs for the Alte Schmiede . Karlheinz Roschitz held teaching positions at the University of Klagenfurt , wrote monographs on cultural-historical topics as well as numerous articles in specialist journals and also worked for television.

Honors

In 1994 Karlheinz Roschitz was awarded the Golden Decoration of Honor for Services to the State of Vienna ; In February 2012, the Federal Capital Vienna received the Gold Medal of Honor .

Publications

His many publications include exhibition catalogs on Viennese historicism and the 1873 World Exhibition , monographs on the Viennese painters Eduard Angeli and Karl Schiske, and essays on the Vienna Salon, Venice and Hans Makart .
