Karlos Matthias Ludwig Konstantin Otto Baron von Buxhoeveden ( Russian : Карлос Матиас Людвиг Константин фон Буксгевден, first name: Karlos, * 14. March 1856 in Tartu , † 4. August 1935 in Brussels ), Mr. Magnus Dahl (Island Moon ) was a German- Baltic baron and öselscher member of parliament. He was the court stable master at the Tsar's court and served as a diplomat in the Imperial Russian service.

Career

Karlos Matthias vB spent his school days in Riga and Saint Petersburg . He then began his law studies at the University of Dorpat in 1874 . From 1874 to 1878 he studied in Saint Petersburg, as a candidate in law he became a civil servant in the Chancellery of the 1st Department of the Senate . From 1882 he worked in the personnel department and from 1891 in the personnel and economic department of the Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs . In this department he was first employed as deputy director from 1892 to 1897 and then director until 1910. At the same time he was court stable master to Countess Alexandra Josifonovna, which he took over in 1902 with the Russian Tsar. In 1910 he was sent to Copenhagen as an envoy with the rank of Real Councilor of State , after the end of the First World War he lived in Danish exile in Copenhagen. For his services he was awarded the Alexander Nevsky Order . His possessions included several estates in Estonia, which he inherited or sold. From Copenhagen he went to Brussels, where he spent his old age and died in 1935 at the age of 79.

Origin and family

Karlos Matthias came from the German-Baltic noble family von Buxhoeveden (House VI. Magnusdahl). His father was the Russian lieutenant captain and state politician Karl Matthias Oskar von Buxhoeveden (1822–1884), who was married to Sophie Juliane von Tiesenhausen (1835–1882). Karlos married Ludmilla Ossokin (1858–1917) in 1881, they had three children:
