history
The Karlshof was built in 1824 by Baron Josef von Ruffini as a sheep farm in order to reduce his debts. He named the farm after his wife Caroline Countess von Leyden Karolinenhof. When Weyhern Castle was sold to the entrepreneur Carl Ludwig Lotzbeck in 1826, the Karlshof also passed into his possession. Around 1880 a forest with drainage ditches and ponds was created around Karlshof, which still exist today. The Karlshof was owned by the Lotzbecks until 1949 when it was sold to Alfred Haug.
The property is privately owned and rented, the agricultural land is leased.
