history

In 1298 Rottenfuß is mentioned for the first time as "Rotenfüzze" . The name could mean something like "clearing at the foot of the mountain" or "clearing at the foot of the hill". The wasteland was owned by the Eisenhofer.

The place appears in 1377 as "Rotenfus" in a document that says that the castle of the Lords of Rottenfuss should have stood there. When the parish of Oberweikertshofen was founded, said gentlemen transferred many lands to the church foundation . The later farm was probably built from the material of the castle.

During the Thirty Years' War Rottenfuss disappeared completely from the map.

In 1818 Rottenfuß belongs to the Odelzhausen patrimonial court . Around 1808 Rottenfuß belongs to the Egenhofen-Weyhern tax district and was incorporated into the Oberweikertshofen community in 1818.

A census from December 1, 1900 states that there were 13 people living in one household (5 male, 8 female).

In the course of the regional reform , the municipality of Oberweikertshofen was incorporated into the municipality of Egenhofen .
