Weyhern is a district of the Upper Bavarian municipality of Egenhofen in the Fürstenfeldbruck district .

The hamlet is one kilometer east of Egenhofen on the FFB1 district road.

Surname

The name Weyhern comes from the ponds that are in the place. In a document Weyhern is referred to as a "[...] fortress over the Kaltenbach near the ponds". From Waihern she developed Wiarn and later to Weihern. Because of the Bavarian king's preference for the letter y , i became y.

Weyhern Castle

There was an economy there until August 2, 2012, but it has since fallen into private ownership. It was an important meeting point for the surrounding places. For 30 years the restaurant was a meeting place for the Catholic Boys' Association founded in 1924 .

The orangery belonging to Weyhern Castle was built in the 18th century. In 2009 the wall on the south side collapsed. The building is privately owned.

The Nepomuk Chapel

A chapel, the Nepomuk Chapel, stands on the border of the Fürstenfeldbruck-Dachau district .
