Kate Bornstein (2010)

Kate Bornstein (born Albert Bornstein on March 1, 1948 in Asbury Park , New Jersey ) is of American nationality and works as an actress , performance artist and author . Bornstein lives as a non-binary person in New York City and uses both feminine pronouns and the gender-neutral singular pronoun they (untranslatable in German).

Life

Bornstein writes books on gender studies and queer theory and has appeared in several roles in various plays. In 1986 Bornstein underwent gender reassignment surgery and lived as a woman for several years .
