Kate Pierson (born April 27, 1948 in Weehawken , New Jersey ) is an American musician and singer in the rock band The B-52’s from Athens , Georgia . She also plays keyboard , guitar and bass for the band.

Pierson has been married to her long-term partner, the hotel operator Monica Coleman, since 2015. Together with her, she is the owner of the Kate's Lazy Meadow Motel in Mount Tremper , New York , a rustic, modern motel in the Catskill Mountains near Woodstock .

She played a club owner in the episode "What Goes on Tour" of the Flight of the Conchords series .
