Kate Reed ( Kate Amelia Reed ; born September 28, 1982 in Bristol ) is a British long-distance runner .

Life

At the European Cross Country Championships in Tilburg in 2005 , she came in 16th place and won silver with the team. She also won silver with the team the following year at the European Cross Country Championships in San Giorgio su Legnano , where she finished 18th.

In 2007 she was fifth at the Great Manchester Run , British 10 km road running champion , sixth at the European Cross Country Championships in Toro , where she again won silver with the team, and second at the San Silvestre Vallecana .

In 2008 she finished fourth in the Great Ireland Run and came 23rd in the 10,000 meter run of the 2008 Summer Olympics .

Because of ongoing problems with her Achilles tendon , she underwent an operation in Sweden in February 2010. A Pseudomonas infection that ensued required three more surgeries and resulted in her being suspended from walking for ten months.
