Kateema Riettie (born December 5, 1973 ) is a Jamaican athlete who competes in the javelin throw .

Athletic career

Kateema Riettie gained her first international experience at the Central America and Caribbean Championships in 2003 in St. George’s , where she won the silver medal behind Laverne Eve from Bahamas with a width of 51.36 m . Two years later she won at the CAC Meisterschaftn in Nassau with 51.61 meters to fifth place, while at the CAC Championships 2008 in Cali meters with a throw of 54.90 the bronze medal behind Bahamaierin Eve and the Cuban Yanet Cruz won . In 2010 she won the Central America and Caribbean Games in Mayagüez with 53.77 m and classified herself in sixth place at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi with 53.80 m. The following year she took part for the first time in the Pan American Games in Guadalajara and was eighth there with 50.97 m. In 2018 she again took part in the Central America and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla and finished sixth there with 52.23 m.

In 2003 and 2007, 2010 and from 2012 to 2014 and from 2016 to 2018 Riettie became the Jamaican javelin champion. She graduated from Southern Connecticut State University .
