Katharina Adler (publicist)

Katharina Adler (born November 13, 1919 in Waldsee ; † February 12, 2010 in Grünenbach ) was a German journalist and publicist .

Life

Katharina Adler studied literature and history in Strasbourg , Heidelberg and Göttingen . She then worked as a lecturer in Tübingen before moving to Grünenbach with her husband , whom she married in 1947, where she lived until her death. From there on, she worked for newspapers and radio as a journalist, focusing more on life in the Allgäu . She published with Das Allgäu (near Isny) (1981), Bilder vom Allgäu (1983) and Lebenslandschaft: Mitteilungen aus d. Allgäu (1985) three books on the subject. In the 1970s she was politically committed to the preservation of the Allgäu landscape and was active in the Upper Swabian Literary Forum. Among other things, she helped to prevent two major projects with the Lindau-Kempten motorway and the large gravel pit in the Eistobel nature reserve .
