Katharina Debus (born August 19, 1979 in Hanau am Main ) is a German singer , musician and freelance voice trainer.

Life

Katharina Debus grew up in Obertshausen in southern Hesse and now lives in Berlin . She received her vocal training in Hamburg and Berlin with Mike Cinnemon, among others, and has been working as a freelance singer in various ensembles since 2000. In 1999 she made a guest appearance in the Musical Rent in the Capitol Theater (Düsseldorf) , followed by appearances in various musical and show productions at home and abroad. a. The little horror shop at the Musical Theater Duisburg. Katharina Debus mainly devotes her energy to her own projects. She founded the Duo FrauContraBass with the bassist Hanns Höhn (Mainz) . Katharina Debus is represented internationally on tour and at festivals with the a cappella formation SLIXS from Halle. Here she worked with the singers Michael Eimann, Gregorio D'Clouet Hernández, Karsten Müller, Thomas Piontek and Konrad Zeiner u. a. with Bobby McFerrin in 2014 . She sings songs by Frank Zappa in her brother Alexander Debus' band project Lex Bronkowitz Orchestra . Already in 2009 there was a collaboration with the composer and theater musician Cornelius Borgolte for Karin Henkel's production of Faith, Love and Hope by Ödön von Horváth at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg , in which she can also be seen on stage as a singer and performer. Since then Katharina Debus has also worked as a freelance voice trainer for z. B. the TV format "The Voice of Germany", the Deutsche Theater Berlin , the Schauspielhaus Bochum , the Schauspiel Essen , the Schauspielhaus Hamburg and the Schauspiel Köln .
