Katharina Tomaselli
Katharina Tomaselli (born February 27, 1811 in Vienna , † June 6, 1857 in Brno ) was an Austrian opera singer ( soprano ).
Life
Tomaselli was the daughter of the singer Giuseppe Tomaselli ; the actors Franz and Ignaz Tomaselli were her brothers. Like her brothers, she received her first artistic lessons from her father. With his help, she was able to successfully debut in the role of "Myrrha" at the Theater in der Josefstadt as early as 1828 .
In 1830 Tomaselli was brought to the court theater in Hanover , later she moved to the city theater in Salzburg . After five years she was hired to Brno. There she gave her farewell performance at the height of her work in 1853. She used the following three years for artistically and financially successful guest appearances and smaller tours. In 1856 she finally said goodbye to the stage and withdrew into private life.
At the age of 46, Katharina Tomaselli died on June 6, 1857 in Brno, where she found her final resting place.
Katharina Tomaselli was married twice: her first marriage to the actor Wilhelm Thiel and from 1842 to Christian Gallmeyer . From an affair with the actor Michael Greiner , she had a daughter, who later became actress Josefine Gallmeyer .
