Katharina Wiesflecker (born March 27, 1964 in Brixlegg ) is an Austrian politician ( GREEN ). Wiesflecker has been a member of the Vorarlberg state government since 2014 .

education and profession

Katharina Wiesflecker was born on March 27, 1964 in Brixlegg in the Tyrolean Lower Inn Valley and grew up in the Zillertal . There she attended the Schlitters primary school and the secondary school in Fügen , before going to the vocational school for higher female professions in Innsbruck from 1978 to 1983 , where Wiesflecker graduated in 1983 . After graduating from high school, she moved to Dornbirn in the Vorarlberg Rhine Valley in 1984 and between 1984 and 1992 worked in a wide variety of professional activities in the private sector. From 1994 to 1996 she attended a university course for political education at the Vorarlberger Landes-Bildungszentrum Schloss Hofen in Lochau, and between 2001 and 2004 trained there as a supervisor and organizational consultant. She currently lives in Schwarzach , is married and has a daughter.

Political career

Between 1993 and 2002 she was the state manager of the Greens in Vorarlberg and co-founded the local group of the Greens in her home town of Schwarzach in 1995. From 2000 to 2003 she was a member of the community council in Schwarzach.

On January 29, 2003, Katharina Wiesflecker was sworn in as a replacement for Sabine Mandak, who was elected to the National Council, for the first time as a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament . She subsequently held the position of deputy chairwoman of the club in the state parliament club. Furthermore, Wiesflecker is deputy state spokeswoman for the Green Vorarlberg and women's spokeswoman for the Green Vorarlberg.

After the state elections in 2014 , in which the Greens were able to gain significantly, Wiesflecker was elected regional councilor in the first black-green coalition government of Vorarlberg on October 15, 2014 by the newly constituted state parliament. Wiesflecker is also a regional councilor in the Wallner III state government formed after the 2019 state elections . As such, she is responsible for the social affairs, women, care, child and youth welfare and development cooperation departments in the Vorarlberg state government .
