The Roman Catholic parish church of Oberwart is located in the municipality of Oberwart in the Oberwart district in Burgenland . It is the feast resurrection of Jesus Christ ordained and belongs to the deanery Pinkafeld in the diocese Eisenstadt . The building is under monument protection ( list entry ).

history

The church was built between 1967 and 1969 according to plans by the architects Günther Domenig and Eilfried Huth and was consecrated on October 19, 1969 by Bishop Stephan László .

Church exterior

The church forms a joint building complex with the parish center. The buildings were built with pure concrete and Marienglas . The church was built on an irregular floor plan. Above it is an octagonal middle section with a beautiful spatial effect.

Church interior

The central yoke is under a square, the cross arms under rectangular square vaults . The organ loft and the sacristy were demolished in 1971.

Madonna statue in the lower church

In the lower church there is a modernized statue of the Madonna from the first quarter of the 18th century.
